Life can quite quickly get overwhelming and stressful for all sorts of reasons. Whether it's a busy life at home with kids, a stressful job, or generally just the everyday strain of trying to fit everything in, when you start to feel like you're getting stressed and burned out, you need to make some changes, rather than just hoping things will resolve themselves. Often everything will continue to build up and could only get worse, so we're here with some simple life hacks to take some of that stress away and to implement a few shortcuts!
Plan Our Your Week On A Sunday
Our first tip is to make sure you're planning your week out on a Sunday. When there are lots of moving parts in life, it's a lot of mental load to try and remember where you need to be and when. So, simply write it all down! There are plenty of great free apps that you can download, where you can type everything in and have a clear list of what's going on each day. This way you can carry it around with you and tick things off. Other people prefer to physically write things down, so notepads are great, or for an eco-friendly option, a whiteboard or chalkboard can be reused each week.
An example of some of the things you might write down are appointments, meeting up with friends, gym classes, when you need to start work earlier or finish later, when you need to collect someone or something, when you need to call someone, and so on. Even writing the smallest things down and ticking it off can really help you to get your head around things when everything is moving quickly!
Plan Your Weekly Meals and Get Your Groceries Delivered
Something else that can make your life a lot easier is planning out your weeks and getting your groceries delivered. Not planning out your meals can be stressful, as there's a lot of last minute trips to the shops or panicking because you're not fitting in the nutritious foods that you want to be. So, when you're planning out your week on a Sunday, you should also try to fit in planning your meals. Plan out what you'll be having for lunches and evening meals, and also consider making more portions for dinner so that lunch is sorted the next day, as this is a good time saver. You can also make sure you're eating a variety of foods to help your gut!
Then we'd also recommend food deliveries to help save you time! You can pick an hour slot when you want your food to get delivered and it saves so much time because you're not walking round the supermarket trying to find what you need. To make your mornings easier, you could also consider things like morning milk deliveries, so you can get fresh milk delivered straight to your door without worrying about running out. Plus, milk in glass bottles tastes pretty great!
Utilise Your Phone Calendar
Last but not least, we'd definitely recommend that you utilise your phone calendar. There's nothing worse than forgetting you have something on and double booking, or just forgetting completely and not turning up! It's also a nightmare when things slip your mind and you forget something you have to do, from birthday cards to booking appointments. So, you should use your phone calendar to help make life easier.
When you agree to do something, go somewhere or an appointment gets booked in, add it to your calendar. You can then set a reminder to pop up an amount of time before, e.g. a day or an hour, so you won't forget about it. Also add in everyone's birthday who is close to you, and again you can set an alert for a few days before so you'll remember to pick up a birthday card. You could also set weekly or monthly reminders for things, like taking meter readings or rebooking your kids after school clubs, so it's all covered. It might take an hour or so to set the main things up, but then you can just add as you go, and life will feel a whole lot easier!
